Air Planter is primarily an air purifier, yet it stands out by enabling plant cultivation in enclosed spaces while spreading the scent and purified air produced by the plants to a wider area. This technologically advanced product aims to grow plants in the most efficient way possible. Thanks to its AI-based operating system, it creates and maintains the ideal environment for plant growth.
Modern urbanization reduces living spaces and limits individuals' contact with nature. As a result, the possibilities for growing plants indoors have become increasingly restricted.
Problem Statement
Limited natural ventilation in indoor environments leads to poor air quality, posing risks to both human health and plant development.
What?
Many people in dense cities have limited ways to experience nature directly—poor air quality and compact living conditions restrict their interaction with plants, smells, and natural processes.
Why?
This issue arises from over-urbanization and artificial environments that separate people from sensory connections to nature, affecting both physical and emotional well-being.
How?
At this early concept stage, the exploration focuses on how modular and sensory-based systems might simulate aspects of natural experience indoors. It loosely considers how air movement, scent, and adaptable forms could create new interactions between humans and living materials, without defining a clear outcome yet.
Ideation
This project aims to merge an air purifier with a planter, creating a self-sustaining mini ecosystem for indoor environments. The main concept is to use the plant’s natural air filtering abilities in conjunction with a technological purification system to enhance air quality.
Product Design
Although the main body of our product has a certain volume, it offers the opportunity to expand the box units used for growing plants vertically. Apart from this, as Extreme, we can also expand this area by purchasing additional platforms.
